Flint and Partners is a group of independent practices in the West Midlands and South Staffordshire, founded in 1935. We are dedicated to providing the highest standards of eyecare combining traditional methods with the very latest technology, such as Digital Retinal Photography. Our knowledge of Sports Vision is unique to the area.

Our philosophy is traditional but not old-fashioned: Each practitioner is happy to see both private and NHS patients - see Services - and it will be your Optometrist who conducts the entire consultation from the eye examination to the selection, dispensing and fitting of Contact Lenses or Spectacles from our extensive range of budget to exclusive designer frames.

We do not delegate any tests to unqualified staff.

About us

Flint and Partners was founded by Gordon Flint in 1935 and has since been passed as a partnership through his son Chris Flint to the current five partners who practice at our four premises - see Practice Locations.

Services

We offer the highest quality comprehensive Eye Examination packages for Private and NHS patients. Your appointment will typically be 30 or 45 minutes which enables your Optometrist to assess your eye health and visual needs in detail. We offer screening for Diabetes (Digital Retinal Photography) Glaucoma, Cataract and Macular Degeneration and have expertise in Low Vision and all types of Contact Lenses.

Eye wear

We house one of the widest ranges of Designer frames and sunglasses in the area and are happy to order frames from any collection for you to view at your leisure. We have recently become an Oakley Stockist, extending our range of specialist Eyewear - any eye wear you need we can provide in prescription or non prescription formats.

Contact lenses

We have three practitioners (Dennis Rumble, Peter Rockett, and Edward Lyons) who fit contact lenses from the traditional Rigid Gas Permeable lenses to Daily Disposables and the most advanced fortnightly Silicone Hydrogel (SiH) and monthly lenses. Bifocal, Varifocal and even tailor-made bespoke designs are available, as are cosmetic lenses, overnight lenses, and sports-specific tinted contact lenses.
