Phillip Gilman obtained his degree in Ophthalmic Optics from Aston University in 1970 and became a member of both The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers and British Optical Association in 1971.

He was elected a Foundation Fellow of The British College of Ophthalmic Opticians in 1981. Phillip joined the practice in 1973 and became a partner in 1975 and has spent 33 years serving the local community.
